Arben Zharku got re-elected as director of Kosovo Cinematography Center

Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Mr. Kujtim Gashi has appointed Arben Zharku as the director of Kosovo Cinematography Center. The mandate of the director is four years and this is the second mandate for Zharku.

"I’m very honored for getting re-elected as I’m confident that in the next four years I’ll contribute even more on developing Kosovo’s film industry. In my second mandate, among other duties I will focus in adapting Kosovo's legislation with the European Union countries, putting into force the Tax Incentives Regulation, lobbying for Kosovo's membership in Eurimages and the Media Program etc. " said Arben Zharku.

The presence of kosovan films in the main film festivals has increased significantly in the last years, worth mentioning are: ‘Babai’ by Visar Morina, the Oscars® nominated short film ‘Shok’ by Jamie Donoughue, ‘Three Windows and a Hanging’ by Isa Qosja, ‘Unwanted’ by Edon Rizvanolli, ‘The Marriage’ by Blerta Zeqiri and many more.
