We're happy to share that Fisnik Maxville’s debut film THE LAND WITHIN/ TOKA BRENDA MEJE, a co-production between Kosovo (Ikonë Studio) and Switzerland (Alva Film) and supported by QKK, is eligible in 5 categories at the Swiss Film Awards. This marks the first time that a Swiss-Kosovo co-production is eligible in so many categories, especially in the “Best Film” nomination.
After a successful run in international festivals (Best First Film at Tallinn Black Nights ; Best Director at Raindance; Best Film and Best Director at Prishtina Film Festival), Fisnik Maxville’s film is eligible for nomination in the following categories of the Swiss Films Awards: Best Film; Best Screenplay; Best Soundtrack; Best Sound and Best Editing.
The film competes along 25 other feature films for a nomination, where only 5 films will compete for the Quartz award. The nominations will be unveiled during the Solothurner Filmtage Festival in January 2024, one of the main film events in Switzerland where “The Land Within" had its Swiss premiere in 2023, competing in the main category. The final ceremony of the Swiss Film Awards will then take place in March 2024 when the winners will be unveiled.
