"THE FLYING CIRCUS" by Fatos Berisha to take part in the Karlovy Vary Film Festival
"The Flying Circus" directed by Fatos Berisha and produced by Vjosa Berisha has been selected to be part of the "Works in Progress" program at the prestigous Karlvoy Vary film festival. "The Flying Circus" is one of 11 filmic projects chosen worldwide to compete in this program.
The selected projects will pitch before a professional jury and public of international film professionals from around the world where they will compete and the best project will be awarded with 100,000 EUR for post production.
"The Flying Circus" is a black comedy which follows the journey of a group of actors, played by Armend Smajli, Tristan Halilaj, Shpetim Selmani and Afrim Mucaj, who set off to take part in the Theatre Festival in Tirana with their play after receiving an invitation, knowing well the danger that awaits them as the undertake the illegal crossing of the border while Kosovo is on the verge of war.
"The Flying Circus" is a filmic project supported by the Kosovo Cinematography Center, the Albanian Cinemaography Center, and the Municipality of Tirana, with co-production from the production company from Kosovo Ikonë Studio.
The 53'rd edition of the Karlovy Vary international film festival will be held on the 29th of June until the 7th of July, whereas the Works in Progress competition where "The Flying Circus" will take part will be held on the 1st of July until the 4th of July.
