We are pleased to announce that the Kosovo Cinematography Center has officially appointed the evaluation juries for the projects submitted in response to the open call for film project funding.
For the categories: Feature-length fiction film, Minor co-production for feature-length fiction film, Post-production for feature-length film, and Feature-length avant-garde/experimental film, the jury consists of: Gentian Koçi, Hassan Oswald, Roshanak Behesht Nedjad, Sona Morgenthalova, and Visar Morina.
GENTIAN KOÇI
Gentian Koçi is a screenwriter, director, and film producer from Tirana, Albania. He is the co-founder of Artalb Film Productions since 2011. His most notable films include S’ËSHTË LAVAZH (2012), DITA ZË FILL (2017), and NJË FILXHAN KAFE DHE KËPUCË TË REJA VESHUR (2022). These works have been presented at major international festivals and have received high praise from media such as Variety, Screen Daily, Sight & Sound, and The Hollywood Reporter. Two of his films have been selected as Albania’s official entries for the Oscars. In 2018, Screen Daily listed him among directors to watch. He has served on juries at various festivals and participated in the Producers on the Move program of the European Film Promotion during the Cannes Festival in 2023.
HASSAN OSWALD
Hassan Oswald is an internationally awarded documentary filmmaker who will debut as a feature film director in January 2026. He is known for his intimate and realistic cinéma vérité approach. His documentaries tackle complex issues such as the water crisis in Flint, Michigan (Forgotten USA), drug trafficking and social problems in Camden, NJ (Higher Love), and refugees of conflicts (Hell on Earth, for National Geographic). His documentary Mediha, executive produced by Emma Thompson, won 15 major jury awards and was nominated for PGA and IDA awards. He was selected by DOC NYC in the “40 Under 40” list, in cooperation with HBO Documentary Films. Recently, he transitioned to feature films with American Love Story, based on his documentary, and is developing several other feature-length screenplays.
ROSHANAK BEHESHT NEDJAD
Roshanak Behesht Nedjad began her career as a festival coordinator and production manager. In 1999, she co-founded Flying Moon, producing award-winning auteur films with more than 30 international prizes, including the German Film Award in Gold and Prix Europe Iris. In 2014, she founded In Good Company in Berlin, focusing on European international co-productions. She also created companies dedicated to Serious Games, with the success of Professor S. recognized by the LEGO Foundation. Roshanak works as a consultant and mentor for programs such as MEDIA MUNDUS and EAVE and is a member of the German Film Academy and the European Film Academy.
SONA MORGENTHALOVA
Sona Morgenthalova is an expert in script development and a mentor for film projects. She is involved with the MIDPOINT Institute, working with screenwriters and directors to professionally develop feature and short film projects at the international level. She brings extensive experience in dramaturgy and narrative structuring, contributing to the creative development of emerging European auteurs.
VISAR MORINA
Visar Morina was born in Prishtina and studied directing and screenwriting at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne. His films have been presented at major festivals such as Berlinale, Sundance, Locarno, and Karlovy Vary, winning prestigious awards like the Lola in Gold and Heart of Sarajevo. In 2020, Variety included him in the list of “10 Europeans to Watch.” His latest film, Hatixhe and Shaban (2025), is an international co-production supported by many institutions including the Kosovo Cinematography Center. His well-known works include EXIL (2020), BABAI (2015), and the short film Of Dogs and Wallpaper (2013), all selected at top-tier festivals.
