Alban Nimani is a visual artist, graphic designer, professor of intermedia, songwriter and performer. For over a decade he has been working as a professor of New Media at the public Hasan Prishtina University where he was also The Head of the Applied Arts Department, as well as private Universities in Kosovo. He has been also engaged as adjunct Faculty on various arts institutions, including The Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts at Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona.
Nimani has an acclaimed music career as the co-founder of the alternative band Asgje Sikur Dielli. ASD published 4 music albums and many music videos. Nimani experimented in diferent music genres and produced the intermedia performance “E Bardhe”. It combines design, music, dance and light sculptures to create a multi-sensory space and experience. “E Bardhe” was shown in Galleries and Art Institutions in Kosova, Albania, Italy, Mexico and South Africa. Nimani is co-founder and director of Tulla – Culture Center in Tirana, Albania.
Tulla was founded in 2014 as an independent culture center dedicated to educational activities: art-management, social and art criticism, curatorship, seminars, round-tables and other culture events in all fields of arts.
Under Nimani’s direction Tulla has hosted and organized 200+ music performances of local and international acts, 40+ exhibitions, workshops, talks, film and music festivals including Bashtova Festival. Presently, Nimani is engaged in TULLA’s programme of professional non-formal educational Masterclases in music, contemporary art and urban farming.
